The Party of NO: GOP Budget Has No Numbers And No Plan

For weeks the GOP has complained about every stimulus plan, economic plan and Obama’s budget. Every time you turn on the news or read an article the GOP “no” choir is in your face. Let’s not forget that from 2000 through 2006, Republican ran both Houses of Congress under the Bush Administration and ran up the largest deficit in American history. Bush and the GOP party were labeled, by fiscal Republicans, as out of control on spending and rubber stamping everything Bush wanted.

Unlike Bush, whose 7 budgets were very heavy on defense and wars, Obama’s budget is heavy on rebuilding the country’s’ infrastructure, the American middle class and fixing Bush’s mess.  Years of neglect costs a lot to repair.

So today, everyone waited, with baited breath, as the GOP leadership  unveiled their budget. But, much to everyone’s annoyance, the GOP leadership offered “The Republican Road To Recovery,” a 19 page joke which took them 27 days to write. It actually sounds like a book title for Alcoholic Anonymous. The best part of the GOP budget is there are “no” numbers in it. Page numbers don’t count.

As usual, the GOP continues to lie. In a small sample from their small plan, statements about the administration health care plan are not only incorrect but they have no foundation in fact. I could be off base here, but I find it shocking that the GOP would use a testimonial, instead of numbers, in their budget plan.  The GOP even out sourced  that testimonial, it’s from a lady in Britain. What, they couldn’t find an American who was screwed by an HMO?

GOP Health Care Statements:

  • Should uninsured individuals receive incentives to obtain private coverage with access to doctors they choose, or will they be placed in a government-run health program?
  • Will technological advances continue to spark cutting-edge medical treatments, or will price controls and federal regulation stifle innovation and prevent life-saving breakthroughs?
  • Will doctors be able to decide the best treatments for their patients, or will government bureaucrats ration and restrict access to care in an arbitrary fashion?

Obama/Biden Health Care:

  • On health care reform, the American people are too often offered two extremes — government-run health care with higher taxes or letting the insurance companies operate without rules. President Obama and Vice President Biden believe both of these extremes are wrong, and that’s why they’ve proposed a plan that strengthens employer coverage, makes insurance companies accountable and ensures patient choice of doctor and care without government interference.
  • The Obama-Biden plan provides affordable, accessible health care for all Americans, builds on the existing health care system, and uses existing providers, doctors, and plans. Under the Obama-Biden plan, patients will be able to make health care decisions with their doctors, instead of being blocked by insurance company bureaucrats.
  • Under the plan, if you like your current health insurance, nothing changes, except your costs will go down by as much as $2,500 per year. If you don’t have health insurance, you will have a choice of new, affordable health insurance options.

The best part of the budget is “the republican plan controls the debt”.

  • Republicans want to end the bailouts, protect taxpayers, and provide a transparent recovery process. Republicans support maintaining the cost of living after witnessing the booms and busts triggered by loose monetary policy.

Let’s see if I understand the GOP logic,

  • they want to end the bailouts that the Republican administration crammed down everyone’s throat;
  • Provide a transparent recovery process. That already exists at Recovery.gov; and
  • Booms and busts triggered by loose monetary policy. Republican loved deregulation and in 2000, the Republican controlled 106th Congress authored and approved Commodity Futures Modernization Act which included credit default swaps. Which got us in this mess.

Good job guys, I cant wait to read the rest of your plan. No rush, 27 more days should yield 19 more pages.

The Republicans may have no plan – but the evidence the Democratic party could hold a succcessful garbage detail isn’t compelling either. http://ga3.org/campaign/epa?rk=UpwHjz5ajUIVE That’s one. Bu$hCo holdovers are surfacing too http://www.ens-newswire.com/ens/mar2009/2009-03-26-092.asp

Ain’t it a damn shame that statusQUObama and his neolib klinton klan hillbillies are doing such a terrible job. Really, they are in a great position to do great things, and instead are doing nothing that will have positive effect…
