Sarah Palin And Her Terroist Lies

Sarah Palin and John McCain, self proclaimed mavericks, self proclaimed agents of change, are nothing more than the same old mudslinging politicians that Americans are so tired of. But, for the desperate John McCain, its never enough. Instead of talking about the economy, unemployment, health care, the wars and important issues, the McCain team is on a mission of lies, negative advertisements and character assassination. Yes the Grand Old Party of George Bush and Karl Rove are back.

McCain believes we haven’t had enough of Bush’s awe shucks bullshit, we now have the pleasure Palin’s awe shucks bullshit. Palin’s newest set of lies accuses Obama of hanging around with a terrorist. Amazing, truly amazing! Not only is Palin a mudslinger, but as we all know she is a dunce with GOP talking points. Do you think she even knows who Bill Ayers is or what he is today? Probably not, but those facts are of no use to smear machines.

At two rallies on Saturday Palin stated:

“Our opponent is someone who sees America as imperfect enough to pal around with terrorists who targeted their own country,” Palin told a rally of about 10,000 gathered at a tennis stadium in Carson, a suburb of Los Angles.

That echoed comments she made earlier in the day to donors at a private airport in Englewood, Colo.: “Our opponent … is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough, that he’s palling around with terrorists who would target their own country.”

I actually find Palin’s statement hilarious, considering she and her husband Todd have been members, as recently as 2000, of The Alaska Independence Party whose main goal is to secede from the U.S.. Their motto is not Country First, its ALASKA FIRST!

While I do not condone what Bill Ayers did in the 1960’s with the Weatherman Underground, I can look at the big picture of the ’60’s and the coast to coast Vietnam protests. Obviously understanding the past is of zero value to Palin.

Today, Bill Ayres is currently a Distinguished Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Education. His interests include teaching for social justice, urban educational reform, narrative and interpretive research, helping children in trouble with the law, and related issues.

So, how does Obama and this former 1960’s radical, who is now a professor, know each other? They both live in the same neighborhood. My neighbor is a republican, does that make me one? In 1996, at the request of Illinois State Senator Alice Palmer, Ayres hosted a meet-and-great at his house to introduced Barack Obama as Palmer’s chosen candidate for the 1996 Democratic primary.

In 2001, Ayres and Obama sat on the Board of Directors of the Woods Fund Group a Chicago. The groups mission is:

Woods Fund of Chicago is a grant making foundation, whose goal is to increase opportunities for less advantaged people and communities in the metropolitan area, including the opportunity to shape decisions affecting them. The foundation works primarily as a funding partner with nonprofit organizations. Woods supports nonprofits in their important roles of engaging people in civic life, addressing the causes of poverty and other challenges facing the region, promoting more effective public policies, reducing racism and other barriers to equal opportunity, and building a sense of community and common ground.

I suppose if you use Palin and the GOP logic, or lack there of, that sitting on a board means you pal around with terrorist then I guess the other six members of that 2001 board of directors are guilty of the same, including the President of McCormick Theological Seminary. Actually, Ayres sits on the 2008 board so we had better include those members as palling around with terrorist, too.

One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter.

As the wheels fall off of the McCain/Palin bullshit express, we can expect more Bush/Rove style politics filled with lies, deception, swiftboating and charater assasination. Now thats what I call mavericks for change.
