Vetting We Don’t Need No Stinking Vetting:Palin Faced Recall As Mayor
A recall of Mayor Sarah Palin is off the table, at least for now, according to a group calling itself Concerned Citizens for Wasilla. The group of about 60 residents was formed Friday in response to Palin’s controversial firing of Police Chief Irl Stambaugh. Members say they’re concerned about the direction taken by Palin since her election last fall, and discussed a recall. But members of the group decided instead they first want to hear Palin’s explanations.
Apparently Palin doesn’t like anyone crossing her so she fired the police chief and the library director
- Wasilla Mayor Sarah Palin fired the city’s police chief and the library director without warning Thursday, accusing them of not fully supporting her efforts to govern. Irl Stambaugh and Mary Ellen Emmons said letters signed by Palin were dropped on their desks Thursday afternoon telling them their jobs were over as of Feb. 13 and that they no longer needed to report to work.
What exactley is “not fully supporting her efforts to govern?” That’s vague and ambiguous. I mean Bush doesn’t do every Cheney says and Bush doesn’t get fired.
Police Chief Stambaugh sued for breach of contract. U.S. District Judge Singleton ruled that under Alaska state law mayorscan fire the chief of police without cause. Since Stambaugh sued for breach of contract, Palin’s ethical behavior was never considered.
- Judge Singleton stated; under state law, police chiefs serve at the behest of the mayor unless otherwise specified by city ordinance.
It’s unfortunate that Wasillas former mayor Strein, worked out an agreement with Stambaugh forbidding termination without cause however, the city council never voted on it.

I wonder if the Palin Follies are meant to distract us from the illegal arrests and mass detentions going on in Minnesota now.

For a thinking campaign that might be true but we are speaking about McCain. Now it has just come out in the Washington Post that while his team was still interviewing, McCain offered PAlin the job.
