Maggie Williams: Mark Penn OUT
Not only did the Columbian Government fire Mark Penn this week, Penn has resigned from the Clinton Campaign.
Maggie Williams has released the following statement from the Clinton camp:
Sphere: Related ContentAfter the events of the last few days, Mark Penn has asked to give up his role as Chief Strategist of the Clinton Campaign; Mark, and Penn, Schoen and Berland Associates, Inc. will continue to provide polling and advice to the campaign.Geoff Garin and Howard Wolfson will coordinate the campaign’s strategic message team going forward.
Penn has been in hot water lately after it was revealed that he was consulting the Colombian government over a free trade pact opposed by Sen. Clinton.
The Colombia government has since fired Penn’s firm, Burson Marsteller, after Penn apologized for the flap.
