What Military Recruiters Don’t Say Can Kill
– they discovered that the military wasn’t what they thought it was going to be. Many of them told me that the military wasn’t even close to what their recruiters told them it was going to be (either the recruiter lied to them, or they were guilty of “selective listening.”) When this happens, everyone loses.
This 14 part series is intended to “save” some of that 40 percent by letting potential recruits know up front, just what they are signing up for.

End ’stop loss’ policy
I’d like to know who will stop the deceptive, dishonorable “stop loss” policy. No one is addressing this issue.
A lot of our soldiers joined because they wanted truth, clarity, honor and direction. The Army emphasizes courage, strength, honor, keeping your word, etc. Why are they being allowed to do the opposite and teach my son that men with power do what they want and not what they preach?
The policy states that if your out date is within two months either way of your unit being deployed, they “stop loss” you and you have to return to Iraq, no matter what.
My son has honored his commitment as of September 2008, but his unit is scheduled to return in November 2008.
Please, put an end to this scam and honor our military veterans who have done their time. This is a national disgrace.
As far back as 2004 Soldiers challenged ’stop loss’ policy:
Class-action suit against extended service
The Center for Constitutional Rights seeks a hearing this week on a request for an injunction on behalf of soldiers subject to what are known as stop loss orders.
Such orders authorize the military to suspend nearly all discharges, transfers, and retirements, and to retain soldiers who have been deployed or whose units have been alerted for deployment.
Then in 2005, WASHINGTON — A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit challenging the Army’s right to force soldiers to serve past the dates of their enlistments, the so-called “stop loss” policy (search) that can keep men and women in uniform during war or national emergencies.
MILPER MESSAGE NUMBER : 04-032 AHRC-PL-CO IMPLEMENT ACTIVE ARMY UNIT STOP LOSS/STOP MOVEMENT PROGRAM
Interview with Casey December 2007:
Question: Is the Army planning on phasing out stop loss any time in the near future, or is the focus still keeping soldiers on the ground in Iraq and maintaining current troop levels?
General Casey: We plan to gradually phase out our reliance on stop loss. That is something we will come off gradually. But as I said, it will be some months before we’re able to start doing that because we’re right now, the surge has sucked all the flex out of the system, so we’ll gradually come down.
I think there’s a false impression that everybody’s stop loss. There are only about 6,000 or 7,000 active duty folks that are stop loss at any one time, so it’s not a huge number. But we recognize that it’s something we need to gradually come off of, but it will take I would say another 12 to 18 months before we’re able to start to do that.
There is always more to the story than is originally presented. Once you are signed up, you no longer belong to yourself or your family. You have basically donated your blood and entire future to the decisions of leaders with a political, economic agenda that has little to do with what you expected it to be. The Military is in place to defend America against real enemies and imminent threats. Today, the military is a tool of economic policy, diplomatic failures and outright corrupted agendas. These revelations do not help troops to justify the horrors and anxiety they must endure. The Stop Loss Policy is the ’small print’ in a contract to sell souls.

They always have lied. They lied to me 25 years ago. They tell worse lies now than they ever have, of course, but no one should be surprised to find out that they lie like Persian carpets.

Jolly, that must be the standard … when I joined the USCGR they promised me Boatswains Mate … but I had to start out as a Yeoman. I didn’t even know what a Yeoman was, but it sounded good. Yeoman is Navy & Coast Guard for secretary. After I belonged to them, I was informed that Boatswains Mate was not open to females. I fought the whole time I was in. I finally succeeded changing my rate to “Damage Controlman”. That’s how I ended. Things have progressed a lot since I left. I felt more comfortable with a hammer than a typewriter. Now I’ve aged and the hammer is not as fun as it used to be. Arthritis changes things.

Why would a government adopt a policy of stop loss after a major conflcit. It’s brutal on our forces whether it’s being discloused or not. I don’t agree with the policy because it’s socialst in nature. When secret societies dictate our war policies so that their children are excluded from war , we have abandoned our democratic process to allow a submersive process of collusion to dictate our nations
political policies. Don’t we have a right to know how our government works ?
Is the military program of Stop Loss directly related to the repercussion of Watergate and should these policies be halted ? When Mark Felt { Deep Throat } leaked the information that a policy of war had been signed into our Executive that would exclude certain members and sectors of our society from having to serve in the military , are the current policies of Stop Loss what they had in mind ? Although the Stop Loss policy has some redeeming benefits , it’s long term goals are mainly responsible for the fatigue and exhaustion of our current troops. The personal effort in the military has become so desperate that you have some soldiers serving in war zones while taking psychological medications and sleeping pills. Considering the long and short term effects of this policy , it appears genocidal in nature and unfair to the military personnel that have so boldly volunteered to serve and defend our country. Please take a minute through the holiday season and think about the people defending your nation and write your legislators and demand the program of Stop Loss be stopped.
