Bush Blames You — Not Iraq — for Our Tanking Economy (Condi for President?)

Five years into Iraq, Bush denies any link between Americans’ economic pain and war spending.

… oil prices once again crested above $100 a barrel and more Americans than at any time since the Great Depression owed more on their homes than the homes were worth; in the year that the subprime market crashed, global markets shuddered, the previously unnoticed credit-default swap market threatened to go into the tank, stagflation returned, unemployment rose, the “R” word (for recession) hit the headlines (while the “D” word lurked), within weeks of the fifth anniversary of his invasion of Iraq, the President of the United States officially discovered the war economy.

George W. Bush and Laura Bush were being interviewed by NBC’s Ann Curry when the subject turned to the war in Iraq. Curry reminded the President that his wife had once said, “No one suffers more than their president. I hope they know the burden of worry that’s on his shoulders every single day for our troops.” The conversation continued thusly:

“Bush: And as people are now beginning to see, Iraq is changing, democracy is beginning to tak[e] hold. And I’m convinced 50 years from now people look back and say thank God there was those who were willing to sacrifice.

“Curry: But you’re saying you’re going to have to carry that burden … Some Americans believe that they feel they’re carrying the burden because of this economy.

“Bush: Yeah, well

“Curry: They say — they say they’re suffering because of this.

“Bush: I don’t agree with that.

“Curry: You don’t agree with that? Has nothing do with the economy, the war? The spending on the war?

“Bush: I don’t think so. I think actually, the spending on the war might help with jobs.

“Curry: Oh, yeah?

“Bush: Yeah, because we’re buying equipment, and people are working. I think this economy is down because we built too many houses.”

In other words, in honor of the soon-to-arrive fifth anniversary of his war without end, the President has offered a formula for economic success in bad times that might be summed up this way: less houses, more bases, more weaponry, more war.

Presidential politics
Curry turned the conversation to politics back home, asking the president if he’d like to see a woman or African-American president.

“You’re trying to trap me,” he laughed. “Would I like to see Condi Rice president? Is that what you said?”

Bush dodged the question, but repeated his belief that his party will retain the White House when he is forced to vacate the executive mansion due to the term limit set by the Constitution.

Thank you for small favors. The sooner this country is returned to adult supervision, the better. Bush and his imaginary friends must be removed from positions of authority. Enough stupid human tricks by Pachydermaniacs. Bush has a delusional world view and Laura thinks he’s funny. “I’d have to say having a loving husband and a really good marriage is a wonderful, wonderful thing,” she said. “Having a good sense of humor is a big part of it. He makes me laugh.” A First Family that pays no attention to the consequences of their actions must see the tragedy, this country faces, as a sitcom. Maybe Condi as President are the best words out of Georgie’s mouth …. NO NO NO, the best words out of his mouth will be “good bye, ya’ll”.

Oh my Jolly! Did you wake up in a bad mood? You managed to say in a few words what my very filtered consciousness really intended. Thanks for the assistance. ;)
Glad to see you back in form.

LOL……those “n” words are very much permitted especially when they speak the truth.

The clueless foggy world of Bush must be a genetic defect that he received from his father.

Thanks Proud, our leaders are in charge of those who elected them, unfortunately, they are also in charge of those who did not. There is a lesson to be learned by understanding that there is no right or left. No government can be3 successful if one extreme faction is in charge of another - witness today’s America. A successful democratic system allows a middle ground between both extremes. That is why I believe Obama has the talent to reach out to both sides and bring them to the center. This is called balance. Metaphysically, this is called the heart Chakra, Fourth Chakra: Heart Center, Human Talent: Compassion, Color: Green, Shadow Emotion: Fear Attachment. This is what Americans must get control of, because it has been used to control us! See this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anahata
