Racial Undercurrents In Secret Service Behavior – Is Obama Safe?
Secret Service Inspector admits destroying documents
By Rebecca Carr | A senior U.S. Secret Service inspector admitted today that she destroyed original evidence sought in a long-standing lawsuit alleging that the service routinely discriminates against African American agents.
Nearly 60 African Americans allege in sworn statements that they were leapfrogged by white agents who scored lower on promotional exams and forced to endure the use of the word “nigger” on the job. They are seeking certification for a class-action lawsuit, but so far have not made it past the discovery stage.
Inspector Carrie Hunnicutt said she placed the documents in a “burn bag” on Jan. 30, 2008, just two days before she was scheduled to testify about the the service’s efforts to comply with Judge Robinson’s Dec. 21st court order to hunt for documents.
Robinson told the lawyers that she was “shocked” that a Secret Service agent would destroy documents.
Wednesday’s hearing was the seventh held by Robinson to determine whether to sanction the Secret Service again for failing to produce credible testimony and evidence in the lawsuit. Robinson has already sanctioned the agency three times. All three sanctions are on appeal. Legal experts say that is a highly unusual number, especially against a government entity.
The surfacing of more blatant examples of racial agendas, under the Bush administration, is alarming. Oversight or Undercurrent is causing the Secret Service to become more suspect in their behavior. Accused of cover ups more often, is the Secret Service becoming just the SS.
Secret Services reportedly halts security screening of Dallas Obama crowds
In a move that makes one wonder what the heck they were thinking, the U.S. Secret Service apparently ordered Dallas police on the scene to stop their metal detector and purse-searching security screening procedures about an hour before presidential candidate Barack Obama was scheduled to arrive at Reunion Arena.
Several DPD officers (who requested anonymity) expressed their concern over the orders, noting that none of those who entered the arena after 11 a.m. were subjected to even the most rudimentary of inspections. (Yikes.)
DALLAS — Security details at Barack Obama’s rally Wednesday stopped screening people for weapons at the front gates more than an hour before the Democratic presidential candidate took the stage at Reunion Arena.
The order to put down the metal detectors and stop checking purses and laptop bags came as a surprise to several Dallas police officers who said they believed it was a lapse in security.
Dallas Deputy Police Chief T.W. Lawrence, head of the Police Department’s homeland security and special operations divisions, said the order — apparently made by the U.S. Secret Service — was meant to speed up the long lines outside and fill the arena’s vacant seats before Obama came on.
OK, this sounds strange. Looking deeper, this example shows the Secret Service allowing an opportunity for nut cases to access a Presidential Candidate … who just happens to be black. Even the Drudge Report caught this. Many Blacks Worry About Obama’s Safety
Does the Secret Service fear a shake up if Obama reaches the White House? Is the Secret Service just another government agency with internal empires trying to manipulate events to their advantage? Color me very suspicious … this is Dallas after all …

I attended the rally yesterday in Fort Worth for Hillary Clinton. The rally was held outside; however, no one was searched. There was a lot of secret service, police and security.
We got in line and filled out a form to get next to the podium but that was all.

I thought this was remarkable.
I mean, Dallas is the location of the assassination of John F. Kennedy. An event that forever changed the USA and not for the better.
But there were other, highprofile assassinations of in the 20th century, too. Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr., to name a few.
I read the comments by the Dallas PD: “It seemed like a friendly crowd.” What kind of fuckery is this?
Heads should roll and Obama’s security detail enhanced immediately.

It’s stunning since the Secret Service is suppose to be beholden to the person they protect and no one else. The idea of racism in their ranks should be of paramount concern no matter who the candidates are or the president is. Racism and discrimination doesn’t stop at color.
Burning documents that is beyond contempt. The entire division should have a shake down and be completely revamped. The agents involved should not be allowed to continue their service and the courts should hand out severe punishment to them.
They need to move the Secret Service out of Homeland Security and put it back in the Treasury Department.
Completely inexcusable behavior!

What you described sounds like half assed security. How safe did you really feel?
No searching and filling out a form. Forms mean nothing you can write whatever you want on a form. The outside events need to be roped off and have controlled entrances with metal detectors.
Racism and discrimination should not be tolerated one minute longer. All of candidates should have their details reviewed and enhanced even if that means some agents are dismissed from duty.

This is a story that is not just going to go away, is it? Whatever the TRUTH of the decision to let people come in to the rally without thorough searches, it is the perception that is most significant, I think. It seems to reflect that protective instinct that seems to be the country’s gift to Barack Obama. And he deserves it, in my opinion. I live in the Dallas Fort Worth area, and will never forget the terrible days of the loss of John Kennedy. I close this, however, with a gut feeling that things have changed for the better since then, somehow.

I agree with you o about the country’s gift to Obama however, I think security should be paramount for all candidates and presidents, GOP included.
While it is true that as a whole the country has matured there are still a few who are lagging behind. Those are the one I’m concerned about.
What happened in the Metroplex should not be looked at as another Texas issues that would be short sighted.

[...] a previous post regarding the Secret Service’s behavior, you really have to wonder if the first African American nominee is safe. Safe, not from the nuts [...]

I wonder what the President feels….. to be saved by a stranger in a line of DUTY……does he truly has a repect towards them?

Shika, I truly believe that since the election is over, the attitude of the Secret Service and other government agencies will change dramatically. There are bureaucratic empires that will fall. New people will come in to dismantle the ‘old boy’ systems. Accountability will return to America.
