John Edwards: The Adult Candidate

After last nights finger pointing and blame game played by Clinton and Obama it was nice to see John Edwards above the crap. I suppose last night was an example if the kind of change we could expect out of Hillary and Obama.

Edwards on Clinton, Obama: We need a grown-up

“I’m thinking, ‘I’m John Edwards, and I represent the grown-up wing of the Democratic Party,’ ” Edwards said. “At times like these we need a grown-up.”

The former senator, speaking to reporters on a conference call to announce the endorsement of the South Carolina Communications Workers of America locals, said the contention in the South Carolina debate gives him a chance to be heard, adding that there continues to be a “three-person race.”

Edwards also said he thinks his campaign is looking to expand its budget after last week having its best online fundraising period since he entered the race.

“We have plenty of money,” Edwards said. “Money is not and will not be the issue.”

The former senator refused to say whether he needed to win or come in second in Saturday’s South Carolina Democratic primary, saying only that there are still 47 states that have not voted and that he plans to stay in through the end.

    We need an adult!

This is terrible. What nut advised him to even attempt language like this? What prospective voter reacts positively to “I’m a grown up”?

    Sigh.

I that Edwards was above all the crap during the debate but his comment put him at Obama and Hillary’s level. He should have just left it alone.

If the democrats loose the White House it will be because of situations like this.

Edwards is not to be taken seriously. He is a man with his finger in the wind. We can do so much better than Edwards that it is only necessary to see that he gets very little traction. Perish the thought that he gets anywhere near the presidency. What a disaster that would be.

If he gets the nomination I would be shocked. However, I think he should stay in and collect as many delegates as he can. Then Edwards can pledge them to Obama.

I perish the thought of Hillary Clinton as the democratic nominee not to mention the next president.
