I suppose going backwards is something lazy Fred can be proud of. I mean he has nothing else to show for his meager campaign appearances. Never mind that you have to wake him up to answers questions. Thompson who surprisingly came in third in
Iowa, left
New Hampshire in sixth place is currently behind Huckabee in
South Carolina, believe
South Carolina will give him a win.

At the debates in New Hampshire, Thompson never fleshed out his answers and seemed some what irritated that Gibson wanted complete and full answers. When Gibson asked him about taxing corporations, Thompson answered with a thoughtful “no” and then went back to sleep. Actually I think he was snoring and we just mistook his “no” as an answer. I guess New Hampshire voters thought if Fred was serious about being president he would have stayed around for the Tuesday primary and not leave for South Carolina on Sunday. So New Hampshire voters presented Thompson with zero delegates. Good job Fred no delegates and you finished in sixth place.
While campaigning in South Carolina, lazy Fred who is skipping Michigan stated in an AP interview that Michigan is not nearly as significant as New Hampshire and South Carolina or Iowa. Fred really knows how to motivate the Michigan voters. I suppose when you have all those delegates’ votes under your belt (3), he can afford to pick and choose the irrelevant voters.
In South Carolina Thompson actually believes that he can do well. Maybe someone should tell Fred that Huckabee is actually doing far better in the Palmetto state. Obviously Thompson hasn’t read the South Carolina polls since November when he was tied with Rudy and Mitt. However, in today’s Rasmussen (who I don’t like and trust but the GOP believes everything the publish) Daily Presidential Tracking Poll, South Carolina poll has Huckabee 22%, John McCain 18%, Mitt Romney 18%, Fred Thompson 10%, and Rudy Giuliani at 10%.Ron Paul attracts 4%.
Fred in all his wisdom also stated in the AP interview that the state (South Carolina) is “tailor-made” for grassroots campaigning. Grassroots is he kidding. I hardly think that espousing Reagan, continuing the war, believing that dissent makes us weak and not taxing corporations is hardly grassroots. Thompson probable uses the word “campaigning” for wiggle room. The term “grassroots campaign” generally refers to progressive movements and causes who work against republicans. So Thompson’s 10% showing is a good indication that his grassroots campaign is working for the GOP voters in South Carolina.
The current delegate count for Thompson is a show stopping 3; Iowa = 0; Wyoming = 3; New Hampshire = 0.
So there you have it, in the republican world of reverse logic, Fred Thompson is winning the Republican Party nomination. Thompson, who originally tied for first in South Carolina now has an impressive 10% in the polls and has collected a total of three delegates. That’s sure to win the South Carolina primary and the party nomination. Yes Fred Thompson’s backwards surge is working.

omg i got a visual with this post…from the movie Frankenstein ..”its alive”.. all the graphic needs in my mind, is Fred stumblin through the forest with the villagers following him with torches. In the case of FREDkinstein ..the torches might be better used, to light a fire under his butt.

oh thank you for the delagates link..so many of us NO matter how hard we try , have so much difficulty understand the patch work of what it all means, the timelines of the primaries . I found it amazingly hopeful that dispite the media frenzy that OBAMA had right now ONE More delagate the (s)hillary. And believe it is NOT Hillary’s gender that causes my negitivity and i abhor the gender card, ITS about the policies , the machine and the possiblity of a DYNASTY. WE are gonna get NO purist candidates…so i am really rooting for both OBAMA and Edwards.

ProudP:
I love the the Fredkinstein idea. I think he would have gotten a part in young frankenstein….what fun Mel Brooks would have had.
Yes you are correct about the process. I will do a post explaining the delegate count and how a candidate really gets the nomination.
