Obama Too Young?? BS
Barrack Obama was born Aug 4, 1961 he is currently 46 years old.
Let’s start with the favorites:
John F. Kennedy was born May 29, 1917; he was elected president in 1960, so that made JFK 44 years old when he was elected. JFK was assassinated on Nov 22, 1963 which made him 46 years old at the time of his death.
Robert F. Kennedy was born Nov. 20, 1925; Her ran for president at the age of 42. RFK was assassinated five months shy of his 43rd birthday.
William J. Clinton was born Aug. 19, 1946; he was elected at the age of 46. By the way, Bill is listed as the “third youngest President“. If you listen to Hillary, she has never said Obama is too young because, when Bill was running and elected he was the same age Obama is now.
Now for a few more young guys in the forty something crowd:
Ulysses S. Grant was born April 27, 1822 and was 46 years old when he was elected.
Theodore Roosevelt was born Oct. 27, 1858 and was 42 years old when he was elected. The youngest U.S. President
Grover Cleveland was born May 18, 1837 and 47 years old when he was elected.
Franklin Pierce was born Nov. 23, 1804 and was 48 when he was elected.
James K. Polk was born Nov 2, 1795 and he was 49 when he was elected. (BossKitty’s ancestor although hates to admit it)
According to the U.S. Constitution Article II Section I:
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for posting this.
I, too, am weary of the Obama-bashers saying he’s too young and too inexperienced to be president.
Obama has more government experience than did Bill Clinton and if I remember correctly, Bill Clinton did a pretty damn good job.
I also think there’s a hint of racism among Obama-bashers, who are looking for a clever way to marginalize him because he’s black. This is so wrong.

You are very welcome.
Pundits, opponents and the “any excuse” crowd have made a huge issue over a lie. But then I guess that’s typical for the ill informed.
Regarding experience, RFK had the least of all. He worked in D.C. for the DoJ for seven years. Some of that time was under JFK as attorney general. He held the N.Y. Senate seat for 2 years then he ran for President. Actually RFK had no public office experience and no foreign relations experience.

Good Points, NYT. Although I prefer Edwards, getting behind Obama if he wins will be easy to do. Not so with Hillary. How could I convince folks that she isn’t a Republican?

We better get ready people because idiots are out there saying Obama is consorting with Rove and other preposterous notions. All i can say is that i am thrilled at the way things are going. And we will need to combat the slurs and mis information that will be coming at us all regarding our candidates. i have heard everything from Obama consorting with Rove, to how he hates lgbt and women..just a heads up.

BREAKING
A major national pollster says that Hillary Clinton has fallen well far behind Barack Obama in New Hampshire after her third-place finish in Iowa.
Rasmussen Reports, in a telephone survey of 510 likely Democratic voters on Friday, found 37 percent backing Barack Obama, 27 percent for Clinton.
In Rasmussen’s last New Hampshire polling, before Christmas, Clinton led Obama by 3 percent.
I think we can stick a fork in Hillary and begin saying, President-Elect Barack Obama!

I too am for Edwards but I can also get behind Obama. As far as I am concerned the guys can take first and second across the country and leave Hillary behind.

ProudP:
I think the voters who think that Obama is hooking up with Rove are the same 21% who support Bush….the uninformed, fox news crowd and the Hillary supporters. The Clinton machine has already been busted many times on Obama lies. However, unlike John Kerry, this democratic field is too strong to allow that crap to get legs.

Christopher:
I hope Hillary falls to the basement.
Obama has her on the run for first place, now we need to have Edwards push her out of second. The guys need to keep first and second across the country.
Super Tuesday needs to be a one two punch to Hillary.

nytexan,
Thank you for your post. It seems that MSNBC is too dumb or too lazy to do the math.
On February 29th, 2008 they ran a story (several times) that claimed that Obama would be the third youngest president - older only than TR and JFK!!!
This, of course, is completely false. Obama would be older than Bill Clinton and US Grant also. This would make him the fifth youngest.
It really shocked me that MSNBC would run a story like this and not check their facts.
I currently have a copy of it on my DVR, and I’m working on posting it on youtube. They should be ridiculed for this kind of terrible journalism.

I’ve heard “He’s too inexperienced” a lot more than I’ve heard “He’s too young.” JFK was inexperienced too, but I think Obama has the least experience out of any of the presidents. But with that being said, I don’t think that matters all that much. Presidents have access to the top experts and can rely on their judgement. As long as they are rational and open-minded and not completely new to politics, they should not be labeled “too inexperienced.”

I think it’s funny you mentioned U.S. Grant. He was a terrible president whose administration was overrun with corruption and scandal. He was too much of an idiot to see it while it was going on, and when he finally did realize it, he covered for those involved.

Bill Clinton made a mockery of the U.S.
Obama didnt even finish the job he was elected to do.
Hillary has about the same experience as Obama.
Hillary and obama have almost no experience.
Vote for McCain, he has experience. and hes not a Socialist.
March 12th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
Vote for McCain by process of elimination? Good call. =\

It’s sad that the MSM, all of them, have become so lazy in fact checking. Heck they can’t even get the delegate count correct.
March 12th, 2008 at 5:47 pm
Right Republican:
Please don’t go there with Bill Clinton. After George W. Bush, Republicans should never feel that they have the right to talk about a president who “made a mockery of the U.S.”
