Amazing Iowa Caucus

Iowans are amazing. I am so proud of Iowans; they looked beyond the “racial divide” and showed everyone that the person matters. What an amazing statement. Yes I am still with John Edwards but last nights result show that we are ready for change, we do look past race and we don’t want the statues quo.

The turn out numbers were historic, democrats and independents got out in droves to make a change. This should send a huge message to Pelosi and Reid that we are tied of the same old crap and everyone better change.

Again the MSM, pundits and the beltway logic were wrong. The darling of the MSM Hillary Clinton positioned where everyone living in the real America knew she would, third. I was surprised that John Edwards didn’t have higher numbers for second place. However, second was where Edwards expected to be considering the amount of money he has.

I found Edwards’s speech determined and full of fire. He made a clear case that America is looking for change and not the statues quo which kicked Hillary. With promoting himself and Obama as the real change agents, I got the impression that Edwards will tag team with Obama to get Hillary out or keep her low in the primary numbers. If that’s the game plan then the nomination for Clinton will not be possible.

When Obama gave his speech it was so much in line with Edwards change message and breaking the statues quo. He is an amazing orator. You have to wonder if Obama and Edwards will be the democratic ticket.

Hillary Clinton gave the same old tired speech. What smacked me in the face was how much Clinton is the “old guard.” She stood at the podium flanked by Bill and Madeline Albright, neither one of those faces reflects change to me. New Hampshire should be another shock to the Clinton machine. They love Bill but he’s not on the ticket.

Now to the republicans, can you believe the Huckster ran away with Iowa? Religion seemed to play a huge role in the republican straw poll; I guess they haven’t learned anything. Personally I hope Huckabee continues to take the primaries. Can you image him getting the GOP nomination, the general debates against Edwards or Obama will be historic. The Huckster never knows what’s going on until a week after the event happens. Here’s an example of Huckabee’s sharpness:

  • Huckabee had no idea about the NIEA report for 36 hours;
  • Huckabee had no idea that the writers strike was still on as he cross the picket line to go on Leno;

I’m actually surprised that he knew Bhutto was assassinated. Although, after Bhutto was assassinated, Huckabee really showed his stuff by stating:

  • “Musharraf was unable to control Pakistan’s “eastern borders” with Afghanistan

I hope someone told him that India is on the east and Afghanistan is on the west.

The Huckster also said:

  • “the U.S. should weigh the impact Bhutto’s death would have on Pakistan’s “continued” martial law.”

    Somebody please tell him that President Pervez Musharraf formally lifted the emergency rule in Pakistan on December 15th.

    Huckabee like Bush is another Gopper who doesn’t read the paper. I suspect he’ll be the pick of the republicans since he’s pretty clueless and at the Evangelicals love him.

    Mitt Romney, actually I’m not surprised that he placed second after all he did buy the state. I guess the Iowa GOP felt he should get his monies worth.

    Now third was a real shocker Fred Thompson. Did Fred even know he was still in the race? I don’t think Fred will place much higher than third in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada. Hopefully he will be out before Super Tuesday

    John McCain can you believe it. I left this guy for dead months ago. McCain has a good shot at taking New Hampshire from Romney but South Carolina will be tough if Huckabee is still around. I guess McCain dragging his mom around has paid off.

    So there you have it Iowans pick change agents from both parties and kicked the statues quo. Now it’s off to New Hampshire.
