Stand Up For Kucinich Against The Des Moines Register

Yesterday, I posted about the Des Moines Register kicking Dennis Kucinich out of the final debate in Iowa. While I support John Edwards, I find this a complete insult to all voters, supporters of Kucinich and Dennis himself.

It’s completely shocking to me that the Des Moines Register would kick Kucinich out and let Alan Keyes participate in the final Republican debate yesterday. You can not tell me that Keyes has an official storefront office or staff in Iowa. Keyes running for president even shocked the pundits with his appearance. Kucinich has been very active in this campaign and this is just another way for corporate America to control and take over our government.

As John Edwards has been saying we need to get corruption, lobbyist and Wall Street out of politics. Personally, I think Kucinich should show up take out his pocket Constitution and tell everyone he has “freedom of speech” and has a right to be at the most important debate before the caucus. The debate is today at 2:00p.m. EST

This is about us the voters taking the country back from corporate America!

UPDATE: From a Comment at Sirens Chronicles

CALL advertisers off their web site. Be polite, ask to speak to the sales, general
manager or person in charge of advertising. Object to their advertising in
a paper that would include Keyes in the Republican debate, but exclude
Kucinich.

Pass this on because the more people that see this, the more people will take action and contact the newspaper:

Please send this video to everyone you can. Post it on your blog, email it. see video: Kucinich is excluded from the Democratic Debate because his Iowa Field Director and State Coordinator, Marcos Rubinstein, works from home!?! SEE LINK TO CONTACT THE NEWSPAPER.

send the link to the video to others, tell them to follow the link in the video description and contact the newspaper and others:

It is so important to me that we stop corporations. I too called and spoke to the news room manager who said their phone are ringing off the wall with people calling in disgust. with Kucinich being kicked.

She said that they were planing on doing a story about it after the debate. Hopefully this will get the message across to the media that they do not run the elections anymore.

Good post and Thanks for the contact info.

I am also for John Edwards, however we should have an opportunity to hear all the candidates, not just the anointed ones of the Democratic Party.

I have called all the advertisers too…although they were highly pissed that I was clogging up their phone lines, they agreed that Kucinich should of been allowed in the debate if Keyes was allowed in the Rethug debate.

You go girl. I am in the process of calling them. I also just posted the DMR requirements for their debate.

You are very welcome. We need to stand together against corporations no matter who we vote for.

Keep Calling. This is MUCH more effective than calling the paper directly. The Advertisers will be calling the paper back and complaining.
Same experience here. People didn’t disagree, thought he should have been included and will call the paper.
VERY IMPORTANT the DM Register suffer the consequences of this kind of an undemocratic decision. Perhaps they will apologize in an editorial and give Kucinich a separate platform somehow?
    Keep calling.
    POST/REPOST on other sites.
    Keep Calling

We can not let them get away with this. The DM Register needs to at least make a public apology.

I called, and made sure the gal , was keeping a count of the calls recieved. Thanks NY , Dusty and everybody for being on the case. How they could blunder this dramatically is yet another example of the Press, forgeting its primary function, to be a voice of the people. Its good they heard from us. Hopefully lessons will be learned. Our response ought to be front page news tomarrow and yes with a mea culpa. I still keep shaking my head that Keyes popped up. I told the gal on the phone - did you see the news that night, it was a freakin joke, and why he got up there..he had the right piece of paper a lease for an office. Well hello , many people., have home offices, to do this to Kucinich is inexcusable.

Thank you for calling. It is of paramount importance that the media large and small realize that the voters are taking the country back and we are in control not them. My reaction would be the same had this been done to a republican candidate. It’s still wrong, its corrupt and it denies the voters their right to explore every candidate.

The idea of Keyes just shows the poor judgment of the Register and cancels any Iowa caucus power that they may carry.
