Bhutto Under House Arrest
ISLAMABAD (Reuters) – Pakistani police blocked opposition leader Benazir Bhutto from leaving her home in Islamabad on Friday and sealed off the capital and nearby city of Rawalpindi to stop a rally against President Pervez Musharraf.
Bhutto, the politician most capable of galvanizing mass protests against Musharraf’s imposition of emergency rule, tried to breach a cordon and appealed to police to let her through.
“The government has been paralyzed,” Bhutto shouted to supporters across a barbed-wire barricade.
Two buses and an armored personnel carrier blocked the road outside her house.
“If he restores the constitution, takes off his uniform, gives up the office of the chief of army staff and announces an election by January 15, then it’s okay,” she said, vowing defiance if he failed to comply. She then returned to her residence.

This is the kind of thing ,that happens, when criminal , unconstitutional regimes in the world are allowed to do as they please – no matter how despotic. This is partly america’s fault. Once our Constitution was a beacon. Under the BushCo criminal junta – the message is anything goes.
Thanks to the courage of one little guy. I know deeply there is only one person in the line up of dems with the respect for the big picture and the Constitution we need. Until WE can impeach within the greatest experiment in human history ? the usa..we are just one more imperialistic over reaching empire..NO BETTER THEN MUSHARRFAF….hence i looked around, i have had an open mind. But in the end after mouning , and screaming for a great platform, not just a decent one.My vote is going to Kucinich. The world , not just america needs Kucinich. He would address Burma, address Pakistan and help restore OUR countries MORAL COMPASS.
Pervez Mushsharraf = perverted mush.

I took them to the House website and they were aghast. The bill passed after lunch. Now everything we are learning will be changed by April. NO ONE KEEPS UP WITH ANYTHING THAT IMPACTS THEIR LIVES …

BK:
Are you talking about HR 3996; to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to extend certain expiring provisions, and for other purposes.
Democrats passed the Temporary Tax Relief Act of 2007, H.R. 3996, which would provide millions of middle-class families with tax cuts by protecting them from the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) and help grow our economy without increasing the national debt. The bill passed without a single Republican vote, and Republicans declined to offer any alternative.
