Bhutto Won’t Accept Musharraf ‘State of Emergency’ Stunt
Pakistan’s Bhutto Cancels Trip to Dubai Amid Rumors Musharraf Will Impose State of Emergency
KARACHI, Pakistan — Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto abruptly canceled plans to travel abroad Wednesday, saying she had heard rumors the government could impose a state of emergency during her absence.
She said at a hastily arranged news conference that senior party aides told her President Gen. Pervez Musharraf might impose emergency measures if the Supreme Court found that his recent election win was unconstitutional. A ruling is expected later this week.
The government denied any such plans.
“I wanted to go to Dubai,” Bhutto said. “But when these rumors surfaced, I decided to change my program,” she added.
“If a state of emergency is imposed, we will not accept it,” she said, speaking on behalf of her Pakistan People’s Party. “If fundamental human rights are suspended, we will not accept it. The nation will not accept it, and I know other political parties will also not accept it.” The declaration of a state of emergency would set back a planned transition to civilian rule and prospects of Bhutto and Musharraf forming an alliance against Islamic extremism.

Bush Must Wait, Musharraf Backs Down On Emergency: Update
Bhutto makes it clear that Musharraf declaring an emergency won’t be tolerated. As warned in previous posts, Bush has put enough Executive Decisions in place to follow Musharraf’s lead. If Bush doesn’t arrange for a terrorist attack to make his point, he will pull the trigger on Iran. Either way, Bush has paved the way to finish off the US Constitution. We are already getting used to living in a ‘police state’, George Orwell was off by a few years … Bush’s definition of Democracy is fed to him by those imaginary voices he describes as ‘God’. I picture Cheney on a microphone at the other end of a speaker hidden under Bush’s pillow. “This is God … this is what I want next …”

0 diggs, Oh, Diggs !
YOur ideas may have some merit, but you would flunk English class.. That’s a lot of jumping from Masharraf and Bhutto to a speaker under “Wubbya’s” pillow. May I guess you have a lot of thoughts clanging around in your head and they somehow all pop out at once.
Try a couple of classes in journalism. Then insinuate all you care to.

Aunt Kara, I guess my thought process took a left turn while I was following the trail. I am convinced that Bush is letting Musharraf lead the way into declaring an emergency. My connection jumped. Sorry it came out so obvious. I was an English minor, but that does not keep my thought process from taking leaps. I am a concept person. Translating concepts is not an exact literary science. I will try to be more careful.

Jamie/Aunt Kara:
Thank you for coming by my blog.
I find it interesting that you chose not to respond on the content of the post but instead on the author. If you are familiar with a blog at all, you would know that they are of a personal style and not a professional nature. While there are blogs that fit the journalist style you prefer, they are attached to one of the MSM web page. Therefore, while you feel it necessary to criticize the journalist value I find it necessary to say you have missed the point of a blog.
Bluebloggin does not have journalist, editors, proof readers or English majors hanging around. What we do have is contribution of valuable, researched thoughts.

I look to blogs for a.) content and b.) opinion.
When the composition gets in the way I try to improve that. Aunt Kara took my criticism like the high class person “she” is. Now on to blogging.
The interplay between Masharraf, Bhutto, and Bush
makes for seductive intrigue. Masharraf and Bhutto are both walking fine lines of power and patriotism.
Bush is like a bull in a china shop, but worse. He thinks he is deftly doing the right thing.

P.S. Thanks for the welcome to the blog.

Jamie:
Bush has put Musharraf in a very dangerous position, although I do not trust either of them. Bhutto in her quest to regain power and to continuing bringing peace to Pakistan has accepted a very dangerous deal. I don’t believe that Musharraf actions are in the best interest of Pakistan, Bhutto or democracy.
Your comments are always welcome.

The people in Pakistan want a non military leader..they want Bhutto back..she cannot barely come back without horrific violence over 100 people dead…due the streets lights being suddenly and oddly shut off. All this with tip offs according to the BBC that this came from deep within Mushafiffs government. Twice he has promised to take off his military uniform and he hasn’t. He has nuclear weapons. And we know darn well america does business with situational ethics. Odd isn’t it that dispite Al quada being in the mountains on the edge of pakistan nothing gets done..could this be part of the plan so that Neo cons have their best weapon FEAR alive and well ? Its all so sordid and disgusting..And hey for you word police out there. Come to my blog have a fookin field day – i am a functional illiterate…does that mean my voice or opinions are not snazzy enough to be heard..You know they have done experiments where entire paragraphs are filled with mispelled words..and you know what ..people’s minds can put it together..IF you were familiar with this blog ..you would recognize these writers are some of the more thoughtful , moderate and literate bloggers around. Keep comong back. . but until you reach perfection , watch the stone throwing please. BK and NY do not deserve it at all – they can surely take it..but its really not deserved and reflects poorly on you.

Bhutto is she could pull it off would take Pakistan in the correct direction. However, I think Musharraf has other plans. I don’t trust him.
For someone to think that the events in Pakistan are propaganda then they have not been keeping up with what’s been going on for the last 5 years. Uneducated statements are very easy to spot.

Police state???
Which state do you live in?? Because in Texas we are not suffering from any sort of police state. I think perhaps you are hallucinating or maybe just a little paranoid.
No, I’m just kidding, it’s quite apparent you’re just another whining idiot.. Hopefully your preferred political party will gain power next year and you can refrain from being a pathetic traitor for at least 4 years.
This blogger has the disgusting reak of patchouli and stale pot smoke.
You’re not helping us you disgusting troll!!!
death to America!!

Kyle:
I’ll agree Texas is not a police state. For the record:
I hate patchouli always have, always will;
Pot well that’s far back in history;
Trolls I always thought they were cute especially the ones with purple hair;
Death to America…hmmm….. could happen if we all don’t join together and get all the criminals out of Washington.
BTW:Someone stating their views does not make them a traitor. It means they care.
