We have a long way to go to resolve why anyone wants to risk everything to come to an ungrateful country. Yes, illegal immigrants are a strain on our health system, our government provided human services. In exchange, they go to work in places most young workers perceive as undignified. Yucky jobs that even the poorest Americans would turn away from or don’t have the energy to try. These enthusiastic pioneers step right in and roll up their sleeves without complaint, mostly out of fear. After improving their language skills, they move forward into their own service businesses. They are motivated and focused on upward mobility. Strange enough, they even send support back to their families back home. They endure all the injustice America can dump on them. They pay more taxes than ordinary Americans, they are prey to crooked scams and believe the most despicable among us. They are profiled by police and set upon by bigoted youth gangs. Yes, crooks cross into this country, too. They become targets for America’s home grown crooks who resent intrusions into their turf. Illegal immigrants are the underbelly for our foundation service industries. We are only now beginning to feel the price of food left in the field. Get used to it. Get used to cleaning up your own hotel room, paying more for child and elderly care and mowing your own lawn. These immigrants leave a poor system that offers respect from their peers to a ‘rich’ system that treats them like garbage.
Oh yeah, they must be crazy. Send them back to Mexico, Guatamala, El Salvadore, Honduras. Lets start recruiting replacement workers from your family. Start now. The wages will surely improve because you are an American. Someday you will earn enough to get that iPhone.

Well this seems to have heated up the crowd a little BlueBloggin – good post. First, the wall will reduce illegal activity. Many of us are all for the incredible melting pot of humanity in the United States that really by default leads the world… with plenty of good intentions and many unfortunate failures. But to allow 20 to 40 MILLION illegals to live here and drain services meant to care for needy American children is just not right. Our government moves very slowly to fix problems like this so we all need to get involved a little and at least write a note to your Congressman, Senator, and local government. We need a process where illegals get a path to become US citizens and Mexico has to do more to clean up the intensely crime riddled border towns.

Thanks Ron, I have many ideas how to address and control the influx of aliens. Viable options must be explored rather than knee-jerk visuals … like a fence. Unfortunately, I consider this fence nothing more than a sweet government contract to this administration’s buddies. Its usefulness is questionable at best. The components are bought from China and the labor force includes illegals. How about those Republicans? Think they’ll make it to the World Series?

We all work the same – some just get paid less. This is a market economy and it is a buyers market. Every job should be bid on … lets see who gets the job. I have a dear friend who is in deep depression because he has been unemployed 2 years. He is in terrible denial. He insists that a low pay job won’t support the life he’s accustomed to! Well he’s homeless! He’s lived off of friends until they can’t support him anymore. He may never recover from denial, but I wish him well. He is one of thousands now. He just refuses to take the same job at immigrant pay. If there were no immigrants, those jobs may pay more, but there would be much fewer.
That’s where many Americans find themselves. The unemployed are the ones hollering loudest about immigrants. They need someone to blame for their woes. They cannot get it through their head that they alone are responsible for not applying for the lower pay jobs. They may be over educated or have a high maintenance lifestyle or kids – that’s not what it’s about anymore. Everyone is trying to survive. Overextended finances and credit, is nothing more than gambling, and middle class America went credit card crazy. I posted about being unemployed, today. The energy it takes to rant about someone elses efforts to survive is wasted energy. The effort it takes to mourn what could have been, is also wasted. Reboot the attitude and focus on unemployed resources you have available. Lighten your load, sell stuff off and become more flexible. Do not set unreasonable goals for yourself. The plight of the immigrants belongs to them, your plight belongs to you. Congress is trying to figure this out for you, anyway. That’s what we hired them for. Thanks babii, that’s what I was pointing out. People will cross the border regardless what the government does. Spending millions on a fence is not addressing the problem that the Mexican economy does not offer the opportunity that America does. The only sad thing is many Americans are resentful and want to blame immigrants for their own failures.
The border problem must target the drug wars that kill indiscriminately. Putting armies along the border is a scary answer to all the danger. The coyotes don’t care how much danger they put their clients in, as long as they get their money … just like the drug cartels don’t care who they kill.

This is my opinion—why the fuck should the u.s.a share there economy and standards of living with mexico just because the mexican government can’t be fucked to get off there swine ridden asses and chnge the fact there country sucks. I moved to Texas from the north (PA) with a college education and moe than enough job experiance I was denied employment simply because I was not fluently bilengual. I don’t have a problem with immigration, we at one time were all immigrants to America but to illegally enter the country and steal false SSN #s to work is ridiculous. That being said, if a better quality of life is what Mexicans are after then why do they still proclaim VIVA Mexico? You are in the land of the UNITED STATES…not MEXICO so show respect and love the country that is supporting you or well the legal residents who are working to support your welfare habits. If you love Mexico so much, then hop your ass back over the boarder and live la vida loca on your own soil and speak spanish because that is your native tongue…since when did speaking spanish becoime a US must??? I’ve fixed problem on my property. I got tired of fixing my cut fences on the border and the ICE not doing anything about it. I just dug a big deep hole and bought some night vision scopes for my rifles and made homemade land mines. Kind of surprising the amount of people that travel at once. I’ll need to dig another hole here soon.

If you stop and think the Spanish bring income in. They pay taxes in and at the end of the year they can not get back that money because the ss number is not a good one. And if it would not be for the Spanish people some of the jobs would not be done. There are good and bad in every race. And as far as medical cost, I work in a Medical and Dental clinic and there are as many white and black that come in the clinic that can not afford medical attention. I have a child with a Spanish guy and he is a hard worker and pays taxes every week. So everyone needs to have an open mind out the Spanish race.

Agreed. However, many illegal immigrants, foreign investors and any person without a SSN do file US income tax using an Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) number which they get from the IRS. This number has nothing to do with social security. It amazes me how may Americans do not realize that illegal aliens pay income tax every year. Approximately 2.5 million per year file income tax returns using an ITIN number.
