Gore Will Not Run For President
A source involved in Gore’s past political runs told CNN that he definitely has the ambition to use the peace prize as a springboard to run for president.
But he will not run, because he won’t take on the political machine assembled by Sen. Hillary Clinton. If the senator from New York had faltered at all, Gore would take a serious look at entering the race, the source said. But Gore has calculated that Clinton is unstoppable, according to the source.

I have to admit that Hillary’s people should be extremely pleased with how well she’s running. She’s perfectly calculated. And the media even makes light of her cackles during debates and interviews, instead of the reading the arrogance that it implies.
Perhaps Al will run in 2012? After all, someone will need to pick up the pieces after Hillary drags the whole party down.

ButtonG:
I have mixed feeling about this; 1) I am somewhat disappointed since the thought of Hillary as president is not for me; 2)Gore is at the top right now and does he really want another Clinton to destroy his gains.
I think he will run in 2012 after Hillary falls hopefully the party will back him then.

For me it’s very simple: it’s Gore or I won’t be voting next year.
I am vehemently against Hillary Clinton and voting for a GOPer is out of the question.
2008 could be the first time in my adult life that I don’t vote for president.

Christopher:
Not voting allows one less vote for the other dem, it will help Hillary. Vote for Edwards. Just remember that everyone that protests by not voting and will help Hillary out.
The primaries are the key to this election cycle not the general election.
October 12th, 2007 at 3:37 pm
Christopher, I couldn’t agree less. Not voting? That’s just downright stupidity. As bad as things are, you mean to tell me you wouldn’t vote, because godforbid, Hillary, or the Hillary you think, and I mean think, is more evil than George and the facist right? Absolutely obsurd!
More moderate, sure. Worse, no way! I think some one’s dog would be better than what we have at this point.
October 12th, 2007 at 3:38 pm
P.S.,I’m all for Edwards.

Phil,
Now that you’ve got the histrionics out of your system, let’s take a deep breath and deconstruct your post.
1. Where did I compare and contrast Hillary and Bush? Please show me?
2. The “Hillary I think” is Hillary Clinton’s voting record and policy positions. Consider Hillary:
a. voted “FOR” the Iraq war
b. voted “FOR” Bush’s USA Patriot Act
c. voted to reauthorize Bush’s USA Patriot Act
d. is opposed to gay marriage equity
e. is opposed to rescinding DOMA, only article 3
f. opposes the International treaty to ban land mines
g. voted against the Feinstein-Leahy amendment restricting U.S. exports of cluster bombs
h. opposes restrictions on U.S. arms sales to Egypt, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Israel, Pakistan, Cameroon and Chad
i. has shown little regard for the danger from proliferation of nuclear weapons
j. supported Israel’s massive military assault on Lebanon which took the lives of over 1,000 civilians (500 of whom were children)
k. justified her support of the U.S. invasion of Iraq on the grounds that “if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons.” Even after it was discovered that Iraq no longer had WMDs
At best, Hillary Clinton is GOP-lite. At worst, she’s a reckless ideologue who places American military adventurism and dominance before reason.
If this is your idea of a president, great, wonderful, terrific. But, she isn’t my idea of a president and I cannot support her.

Its me merry sunshine ! we are on a runaway train ! as my X from Columbia used to say we are all dead. I will waffle and waffle. Probably get a form to change ..maybe so i can vote in the primaries. I am a green I don’t like any of em cept Dennis..yeah dennis. Fat chance. All my life – conditioned to vote…all my life taught to believe in the dems..who i now call the mythical dems. the dems of our dreams…Rudi Hilary i do not see a difference. i really do not cept hillary is prettier. Better rhetoric..too many broken promises and compromise..think Pelosi. Some friend to the constitution. So to vote or not to vote..does it really matter anymore..this empire , the one business party is gonna do what its gonna do , with our consent or without it…NOT ONE candidate on either side is worth a hill of beans. NOT ONE. NONE value our constitution..all play the terror frame.. there now – the lunatic fringe has spoken !
love eachother possums, i sure do love you all DEEPLY and respect your fine minds I DO !
don’t let the bread and circus’ fool you. they want us fighting thugs vs dems.in an civil war while they make their Oligarchical money and consolidate power. Perhaps out of the rubble of our over reaching empire..a true country of the people , by the people can rise again..OUR votes are not even counted yet..neither party wants em to be ? why ? who benefits..I cannot collude in this..but must admit – its a hard habit to break this voting game.
October 12th, 2007 at 5:11 pm
All I have to say is Hillary is hoping people will protest with their votes so her competition at the polls won’t show. The MSM has made her the nominee and everyone that protest by not voting is making the MSM statement true.
I will vote and it won’t be for Hillary. I too am pissed at the democrats but I also won’t sit home and easily give Hillary what she, the MSM and the GOP want.
October 12th, 2007 at 5:48 pm
Hold your horses, folks.
This unnamed source “involved in Gore’s past political runs” (Clinton/Gore?…I would bet $ that it’s James Carvelle), gives a false premise in claiming the HRC machine is unbeatable. All week we have been reading about how the Dem “leadership” doesn’t get the angst of the Dem base. They, and this “they” is Pelosi & Emmanuel & Clinton – the DLC, know goddamn well that liberals do not broadly support her and in fact there is evidence that most of us will NEVER support her. This is CNN bullshit, on a par with the National Enquirer’s undocumented story about the Edwards affair. Don’t believe it until we hear it from Gore.
The primaries are the time for our votes. No primary has ever been so important. That’s where our vote counts to stop HRC.
But if she wins the primary, I will not vote.
October 12th, 2007 at 6:11 pm
Christopher, I hear you on Hillary, and I agree. I’m not supporting her at this point. I’m all for John Edwards. What I’m suggesting in my post is that, not voting at all is like a vote for the GOP.
you’re not voting against them, so you’re essentially helping to secure 4 more years of even worse tyranny. Hillary or not, Ill take Hillary over any of those neocon creeps any day.
October 12th, 2007 at 6:33 pm
Mirth:
There is much truth to your statement. James Carvelle interesting he never entered my mind to be behind this. I am truly hoping that within a few week I am able to make a correction post.
CNN is not the only one guilty of ignoring what is being said on the blogg’s against Hillary. Personally for me anything Wolfe Blitzer say on Hillary is junk. He is on Clinton payroll.
October 12th, 2007 at 7:09 pm
To vote or not to vote for HRC.
In the primaries, my vote will be enthusiastically for Edwards.
If HRC wins I will not vote for her in the General election, which would be a vote against my conscience and I’m done with that. Further, if she is the final Dem candidate, I don’t think she is electable.
But I know this: there is very little difference between her as prez and a Rep for prez. Neo is Neo, regardless the letter after it. Read up on her record. Do you want her making ultimate decisions about reining in corporate control of our lives? Do you think she’s going to stop spying on us? How about her reinstating environmental protections that don’t jibe with corporate greed on pollution? Do you think she’s going to give up Bush-grabbed Executive powers which are in violation of the constitution? How about releasing prisoners from Gitmo? Or never again using ‘extraordinary rendition’ and torture that has brought such shame to all of us, not to mention what it has done to the ones we have tortured and murdered? Do you want her warhawk finger on the Nuclear button if Iran stand firm?
A vote for HRC is not acceptable to me and it shouldn’t be acceptable to any other liberal. If the Dems are stupid and irresponsible enough to do it, then I say let this freighttrain roar down the track and crash.
Maybe afterwards we can all work to get back the country we once knew.
October 12th, 2007 at 7:23 pm
PLUS!
HRC has said pubically that in her administration our armed forces will be in Iraq until 2013 and it is reported that privately she has said they will be there for another 50 years.
October 12th, 2007 at 9:13 pm
*pubically*
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The mythical dems..goddess love em, and free our minds from our conditioning. Iron hands with velvet gloves. And it is seductive. Those high minded speeches, those LIES ! The game is rigged , literally and figuratively. Until we restore the basics..like SEC regulations on Hedge funds and the people are sufficiently pinched we remain in the worlds most high tech Oligarchy. And note please there is no real desire in the elected politicians to get back to basics. i.e. our constitution..hell no this “terror” thing is a bonanza. Got us all by the short hairs. So we have free market nut cases running the show. Privatize everything ..do you think really any democrat is going to dismantle that – the money changers will kill them first. Its happened before. It will happen again. Now what is the solution – its all local. – grassroots from the ground up.
i made 5 calls to washington yesterday – one to steny hoyer, as Pelosi’s line and voice mail was full – the rest to my reps about an inclusive Enda..you want to see the state of the so called progressive dems these days..watch Barney Frank video press conference..your jaw will drop – see we are all just to naive in his mind to know what its really like in Washington…My question to him and others would be…and just how did it get this way ? Who benefits ? Not the people , us citizens, and i use that term loosely. We no longer have the rights our constitution supposedly garentees us. And lets not forget..IF Hillary looks too popular and i do not this she really is – there is always the fake terror ploys..If the Chimp was not such a lazy sot , who hated being president i would bet that he would cancel elections but he cannot wait to go the way of Kissenger and be able to sip his single malt in peace..out of the spot light for his many WAR CRIMES..
yeah its that bad. but what is worse is that 300 + million of us really have no way to stop it except by building locally outside of the system. Thats where my energy most of it goes. Such as it is..
October 13th, 2007 at 10:21 am
oh i gotta bet with myself..watch if Gore supports anyone i bet u cash money
it will be Hillary. Look really close at dear Al’s history and went on under the Clinton regime..its not pretty. escholan, secret renditons, depleted uranium all over kosavo..not to mention the smooth talk and broken promises.. and the big show..of impeachment. There is more to that as well.there is always a hidden agenda so the NEOs tighten their control on we WE the people..Why did Al pick or who forced him to pick Lierman to run with ? Al created the DLC – i love what he has done with his life since those yrs..but he is shy of politics for a good reasons..and he won he popular vote..Where was the Dem Machine then ? They allowed a coup ! HELLO ! who benefited from that ? these are painful truths.
October 13th, 2007 at 10:46 pm
ProudP:
I doubt Gore would every support or back another Clinton again. There is way to much bad blood between them.
Unfortunately V.P.’s are not really picked by the presidential nominee. The nominee is given a list with strong recommendations of who to pick from the list. With that said a nominee might like selection “d” but they may be told to go with selection “a”. Which is what seemed to happen with Kerry and Edwards. Veeps are still done in the back room.
Personally I think the v.p. should be the presidential candidate with the second most popular votes from the primaries.

I’m sure the only competition Gore is likely to be in when this news gets out will be who is the bigger lying sack of puss; Moore or Gore.
