Osama Bin Laden Wins Popularity Contest

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf — a key U.S. ally — is less popular in his own country than al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, according to a poll of Pakistanis conducted last month by an anti-terrorism organization.

  • Osama bin Laden more popular than Pakistan, U.S. presidents, poll finds
  • Two-thirds of respondents say they believe war on terror is action against Islam
  • Respondents say view of U.S. would improve if aid, business ties increased
  • Poll of more than 1,000 Pakistanis conducted for group Terror Free Tomorrow

That’s OK, Bush doesn’t listen to polls anyway, wonder if Musharraf does. Bush doesn’t care about Americans, why should he care what Pakistanis think? Our ‘Boy-In-A-Bubble’ doesn’t need polls to tell him that his buddy Osama still wins, hands down, or hands up, depending on who you ask.

I don’t think the fallout from the Sharif issue has even begun yet.

Bhutto is trying to maneuver herself into being there to pick up the pieces when Busharraf finally falls, but I don’t think she’s going to be able to do it. The Pakistan you see today is not the same Pakistan that had her as a PM. You can thank the US/Saudi spreading of Muslim Brotherhood/Wahhabi fundamentalism into Pakistan for that.
