I wonder if there is anything behind Romney winning since this was recorded yesterday:

Last night, at the pre-Straw Poll “Ronstock” concert at the Bali Satay House in Ames,a Ron Paul volunteer played back a recording of competing Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney joking about cheating in a State Fair popularity contest, stuffing the ballot box in Ames, and dodging questions across the state

I thought there were supposed to be 40,000 Iowans taking place in this straw poll. I guess it’s not just the number of progressive protesters at marches that the media can’t count.

Seems like there’s no more than 12000 voters in this poll. Even if you doubled that with Thompson, Giuliani and McCain participating actively, they would be well short of 40k. I guess the apathy of the Republican voter towards this field is even worse than advertised.

From what I understand 40K participate but them so many pay to vote.It seems like a screwy system to me. Click on the Iowa Independent link for more info. It is a very useful site.

Giuliani and McCain are toast with the Iowans by many of their comments.

Thompson was media hype. I think we will see the same with the media hype on the democratic side.

    Thanks for your comment.
